The Raspberry Pi 5 is one of the best single-board computers available. Its (sort of) powerful specs, small footprint, and low price make it ideal for a wide variety of projects. But no Raspberry Pi passion project is truly complete without some added components, namely a protective case. These are the best Raspberry Pi 5 cases for protecting your SBC and providing that aesthetic touch that every finished Pi project deserves.

The Argon Neo 5 Bred may not be the most feature-packed Raspberry Pi 5 case out there, but its sturdy aluminum case and built-in 30mm PWM fan make it suitable for a wide variety of uses. Its two-piece construction makes it easy to get under the hood, and it has mounting screw points on the bottom plate if you want to affix your RPi 5 to a wall.

If you’re looking to shield the internal components of your Raspberry Pi 5 as cheaply as possible, the Vilros Clear Case will be hard to beat. This spacer-style case protects your SBC from accidental damage while providing easy access to all ports and controls. As an added plus, it also comes with a 30mm PWM fan.

While the GeeekPi Mini Tower Kit is one of the pricier Raspberry Pi 5 cases you’ll find, it has the aesthetics and feature set to turn your SBC into a proper mini PC. It comes with an ICE tower cooler fan, a programmable LED ambient light, and a built-in OLED screen to display system information. It’s on our list of the best RPi 5 accessories for a reason.

There aren’t many compelling reasons to choose the Official Raspberry Pi 5 Case over our other choices, but you can always count on official accessories for top-tier support and a guaranteed fit. This case is made from sturdy ABS plastic and comes with a large 40mm PWM fan for improved cooling.

Adding a 7-inch touchscreen to your RPi 5 setup with the SmartiPi Touch Pro is surprisingly inexpensive. It has ample space inside for HAT boards and additional components, including a special spot for the Official Raspberry Pi camera V1, V2, or V3. It also has a built-in fan with a vibration-damping mount. This is a great option for creating a smart home control terminal, sales kiosk, or weather station.

Emulating a retro game console collection is a classic Raspberry Pi project. It is also the perfect excuse to buy this adorable NES-inspired SBC case from GeeekPi. This lightweight aluminum case protects your SBC from accidental damage while also cooling it down via a built-in 40mm Armor Lite V5 Cooler.

If you’ve got an array of project boards fulfilling different (or shared) roles throughout your home, the Uctronics Raspberry Pi Cluster Enclosure may be just what you need. This server rack-style storage solution supports four different Raspberry Pi SBCs of various sizes, as well as an ethernet switch in the tray below. It also has two built-in 80mm PWM fans. It’s the perfect solution for a Pi Array, Pi NAS, or Pi LAN lab.

Whether you value cooling or coolness, you can’t go wrong with the Vilros Wave Case. It has active cooling in the form of a built-in 30mm PWM fan and passive cooling provided by its stylish aluminum alloy fins. It also offers other nice features like a window for the LED power indicator, easy GPIO port access, and camera module mounting capabilities.

If you need a case that is compatible with the Raspberry Pi DAC+ or other DAC Pro Sound Cards, you can’t do much better than the KKSB Raspberry Pi 5 Case. This protective case is well-built and efficiently priced, making it a great choice for a hi-fi audio streaming station or a home media center.

There is obviously no shortage of choice when it comes to Raspberry Pi 5 cases. But considering that the RPi 5’s sheer versatility is its biggest selling point, most project board enthusiasts will want a case as versatile as the SBC inside. We suggest the Argon Neo 5 Bred for such users because of its sleek design and high-quality construction. However, those with even grander ambitions may prefer the extra headspace offered by the versatile GeeekPi Mini Tower Kit.

For budget users, we would be hard-pressed to suggest anything other than the $5 Vilros Clear Case (though one could also make a fair argument for the Official Raspberry Pi 5 Case). We also included some cases that serve common applications of the Raspberry Pi 5, such as the SmartiPi Touch Pro and the GeeekPi Retro Gaming Case, but don’t worry if you didn’t find the perfect case for your next RPi 5 project here. You can always 3D print yourself something custom if it doesn’t already exist! Creating is the purest joy of this hobby, after all.

The Raspberry Pi 5 is one of the most powerful consumer-grade SBCs out there. Sadly, its limited stock means you'll have a hard time finding one.
